Movie Night at The Studio
This month we continue to feature local talent in the area and we are also showing 1 short and 1 feature length of great importance..... HPV
Narrated by Vanessa Williams. The Human Papilloma Virus HPV may be the most widespread, misunderstood and potentially dangerous epidemic that most people hardly know anything about. 80 percent of all people under 50 years of age will have a strain of the virus at some point in their lives and most will not even realize they have it. Cervical cancer is almost exclusively caused by HPV and it is the 2nd leading cancer in women. Worldwide, cervical cancer kills over 250,000 women every year. Meet five unforgettable women whose lives have been changed forever and even interrupted by this deadly virus.
"Lady Ganga: Nilza's Story" received the Grand Prize: International Humanitarian Award from the Rhode Island International Film Festival. It is a great honor and we are humbled and inspired by the incredible reception the film received. Michele Baldwin would be so proud and this is a wonderful recognition for all women around the world who deserve to be protected against cervical cancer. Congratulations to "Frame 391" directed by Rich Williams who received the Oscar qualifying Best Short Documentary Award! Well done :)
Cheryl and Frederic Lumiere have been greatly involved in both of these projects... along with Ken Arnold~!
